Garsten, November 27th, 2020. With a rated output of 6.9 MW and an area of over 55,000 m², CCE Clean Capital Energy is building Austria's largest photovoltaic roof system on the roof of the aluminium manufacturer AMAG in Ranshofen. With this, CCE has achieved a nationwide PV record. CCE covers the entire value chain "in house" - development, construction, financing, and operation of the plant.
In total, the photovoltaic specialist is investing several million euros in AMAG's roofs. All of the electricity produced is consumed by AMAG's production facilities via a contracting model. CCE and AMAG have concluded a long-term contract for this purpose. The plant will generate around 6.7 GWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to the consumption of around 1,700 households. Construction of the plant will begin in spring 2021. The construction period is expected to last four months.
"In many respects, this project represents exactly the necessary steps to become CO2-neutral in Austria by 2030," explains CCE Group owner and CEO Martin Dürnberger. "In order to achieve this goal, the energy systems of cities and industries must be consistently converted to protect the climate. This forward-looking project, which we are implementing together with our partner AMAG, is therefore a decisive milestone in our claim and endeavour to shape the sustainable energy world of tomorrow. I hope that many more projects will follow this example".
"An absolute showcase project in which we as CCE cover the entire value chain. This offers the perfect conditions for customers and is a decisive advantage for such contracts," adds Robert Bogner, the Managing Director responsible for CCE Austria.
